Set xPrivo as your default search engine

Setting the default search engine determines which search engine is used when you type directly into the address bar at the top of your browser. To set xPrivo as your default in Chrome:

1. Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu (usually top right next to the address bar).
2. Click on Settings.
3. In the left-hand menu, click on Search engine. Then click the Manage search engines and site search button.
4. Scroll down to Site search and click Add. Fill out the details as follows:
   Search engine: xPrivo
   Shortcut: xprivo.com
   URL with %s in place of query: https://www.xprivo.com/search?q=%s
5. Click Add.
6. Find xPrivo in the list, click the three dots next to it, and select Make default.

xPrivo is now your default search engine!

xPrivo on Safari

Set xPrivo as your default search engine or homepage

Since Safari limits the default search engines in the dropdown, the best way to use xPrivo seamlessly is by setting it as your homepage and opening new tabs to xPrivo.

1. Open the Safari app on your Mac.
2. In the top left menu bar, choose Safari and then Settings (or Preferences).
3. Click on the General tab.
4. In the Homepage field, enter the following URL:
   https://www.xprivo.com/search
5. Ensure that New windows open with and New tabs open with are both set to Homepage.

Every time you open a new tab or window, your privacy-first AI search is ready to go.

xPrivo on Edge

Set xPrivo as your default search engine

1. Open Edge and click the three-dot menu next to the address bar.
2. Click on Settings.
3. In the left menu, click Privacy, search, and services. Scroll all the way to the bottom to the Services section and click Address bar and search.
4. Click on Manage search engines, then click Add.
5. Enter the following details:
   Search engine: xPrivo
   Shortcut: xprivo.com
   URL with %s in place of query: https://www.xprivo.com/search?q=%s
6. Click Add.
7. Click the three dots next to xPrivo in the list and select Make default.

xPrivo is now your default search engine!

xPrivo on Firefox

Set xPrivo as your default search engine

1. Open Firefox and click the three-line (hamburger) menu in the top right corner.
2. Click on Settings.
3. In the left-hand menu, click on Search.
4. Scroll down to Search Shortcuts and click Add (or navigate to xPrivo.com and right-click the URL bar to select "Add xPrivo").
5. Once added, go to the Default Search Engine dropdown under the Search settings and select xPrivo.

xPrivo is now your default search engine!

xPrivo on Brave

Set xPrivo as your default search engine

1. Open Brave and click the three-line (hamburger) menu at the top right.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Search engine in the left-hand menu. Then click Manage search engines and site search.
4. Under Site search, click Add and fill in the following:
   Search engine: xPrivo
   Shortcut: xprivo
   URL with %s in place of query: https://www.xprivo.com/search?q=%s
5. Click Add, then find xPrivo in the list, click the three dots next to it, and select Make default.

xPrivo is now your default search engine!

xPrivo on Opera

Manual Setup for xPrivo

Setting up xPrivo on Opera requires a quick manual configuration:

1. Open Opera and click the Opera logo (usually top left). Click on Settings.
2. Scroll down to the Search engine section. Click on Manage search engines and site search.
3. Scroll to Site search and click the Add button.
4. Enter the following information:
   Search engine: xPrivo
   Shortcut: x
   URL with %s in place of query: https://www.xprivo.com/search?q=%s
5. Click Add.

Now, whenever you type an "x" followed by a space and your search term in the address bar, xPrivo will handle your query securely!

xPrivo on Vivaldi

Set xPrivo as your default search engine

1. Open Vivaldi. Click the small gear icon in the bottom left corner to access Settings.
2. In the menu on the left, click on Search.
3. Click the + (Add Search Engine) button at the bottom of the search engines list.
4. Fill in the fields: Name it xPrivo, set the URL to https://www.xprivo.com/search?q=%s, and set a nickname like x.
5. Check the box for Set as Default Search. You can also check Set as Private Search to ensure ultimate privacy in Incognito mode.

xPrivo is now your default search engine!
